How Emmi Pet Teeth Cleaning for Dogs Works at Doghouse
Using An Ultrasonic Toothbrush
Some dogs are more susceptible to plaque growth than others. Until recently the only solution to plaque build up has been a trip to the vets, with a general anaesthetic and descale, with a high possibility of extractions in the worst cases.
At Doghouse we use an Emmi pet toothbrush for our teeth cleaning. This ultrasonic toothbrush over the course of several appointments, gently dissolves the plaque on your dog's teeth.
The Emmi pet toothbrush is vibration-free and no actual brushing or scrubbing is necessary, making this a stress free experience for your dog as it is simple and non-invasive. You will notice that it improves your dog's whole oral health, from their breath and gums to the tartar build-up on their teeth.
How does Emmi Pet work?
Emmi-pet, with its unique and patented dental care system, is now the new trend for a completely new kind of dental cleaning and oral hygiene. It is gentle, motionless and does not involve brushing or any abrasive action!
The Emmi pet ultrasound waves are transmitted through the wet toothbrush bristles with the Emmi pet toothpaste, creating millions of micro-bubbles that penetrate deep below the gum line & into the smallest gaps between the teeth & gum pockets. Bacteria, food remains, plaque and bad breath (which is the leading sign of periodontal disease) are removed. It also increases blood flow to the gums to heal wounds and stop bleeding.
This revolutionary method is based on a globally unique patent - the Ultrasonic Piezo-Chip created by Emmi-dent. This Piezo-Chip sits in the head of the toothbrush and generates up to 96 million ultrasonic waves (air vibrations) per minute.
We do need to stress that the ultrasonic toothbrush is not a “magic wand”, it is a gentle and gradual method of removing tartar and bacteria from your dog's teeth and gums, and needs to be used for several sessions in order to thin the tartar and bacteria to make it safe enough to pick the tartar off the teeth.
How often should my dog get Emmi Pet?
We highly recommend a weekly appointment, over ten weeks. We tend to notice a reduction in tartar after the first three to four sessions, but if the tartar build-up is high, then this may take longer, as all dogs and their teeth are different.
Once the ten weeks have passed and hopefully your dogs teeth are much improved we would then recommend a monthly visit to keep on top of the bacteria and tartar build-up.
Costs per session:
We offer FREE trials of EmmiPet just to see how your dog reacts to having the toothbrush in their mouth, and get them used to the sensation.
Initial Appointments are £40 if the groomer thinks that EmmiPet would work on your dog.
Follow up sessions are then £20 to keep on top of reducing plaque and improving you dog's dental health.
